Funeral Home Profile

Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home

By 1915 Harold Jackman and Albert Penny were providing funeral services in Harrison, Ohio. In 1935 it was named the Jackman-Bullock Funeral Home when Eugene Jackman and Edwin Bullock became proprietors. In 1948 Mr. Bullock left to pursue other interests. Mr. Jackman is later joined by Ronald and Judy Kercheval in 1965. The brothers Rodger and Vernon Meyers began working with Mr. Kercheval in 1992 and upon Kercheval's retirement in 1997, the name changed to Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home. Today it is owned by husband and wife Rodger and Taaron Bourquein Meyers. The funeral home has provided the families of Harrison with comfort in their time of need for almost a century. The building itself at 215 Broadway Avenue has grown and changed with the years too, but one thing remains the same... it is still a respected family owned funeral home full of Harrison history and pride. Rodger's family has been serving bereaved families for three generations. His grandfather Walter Meyers first began his funeral service in Batesville, with horse and carriage in the early 1900's. Taaron's ancestors settled in the Harrison area in the early 1800's. Many of these Simonson, Roudebush, Hunt and Bourquein families continue to reside in this area today
