Mrs. Janie (Laughlin) Knox, age 61, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 19, 1952, in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Clarence B. "CB" & Opal Faye (Winslow) Laughlin. She was raised in Madison, Indiana, where she attended high school. Janie was united in marriage on August 15, 1971, at the Mount Sterling Baptist Church in Mount Sterling, Indiana, to Dickie Knox & to this union arrived two sons to bless their home. Janie & Dickie shared nearly 43 years of marriage together until her death. Janie was employed for BESI Inc. in Vevay, Indiana in the Sewing Department, for the past 12 years. She was a former Packer for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, from 1971-1999. Janie was a former Cook for Markland Shell in Markland, Indiana & was a former Dietician for the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana. For many years, Janie helped in the Little Swiss Poka Dancers at the Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay, Indiana. Janie will be remembered for her love of bowling, socializing with her friends & family & her grandkids. Janie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & sister. Janie died at 9:40 pm, Monday, January 27, 2014, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Janie will be missed by her husband of 43 years: Dickie Knox of Vevay, IN; her sons: Steven Knox & his wife: Amanda of Vevay, IN, Ricky Knox of Vevay, IN; her mother-in-law: Patricia L. Knox of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren: Jordan Knox, Mahaila Grace Knox & Madison Patricia Knox; her sisters: Delores Ann Aldridge of Madison, IN, Mary Kay Thompson of Madison, IN, Bonnie Sue Zearing of Lexington, IN; her brother: Jack Thomas Laughlin of Madison, IN; her several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence B. "CB" & Opal Faye (Winslow) Laughlin; her brother: Timothy Wayne Laughlin; her grandparents: Clarence W. & Aggie Laughlin; Albert & Lillian Winslow; her brother-in-law: Louis Allen Aldridge.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 2:00 pm, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
