Mrs. Lois Ann (Russell) Stopher, age 69, of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on February 13, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert Floyd & Helen (McCord) Russell. She was raised in Anderson, Indiana, where she was a 1961 graduate of Madison Heights High School in Anderson, Indiana. Lois was united in marriage on June 10, 1961, in Anderson, Indiana, to Virgil Wayne Michael & to this union arrived one daughter & two sons to bless their home. She was later united in marriage on May 16, 1998, in Nashville, Indiana, to Charles Ray Stopher. She was formerly employed with the Brookside's Fan Factory in McCordsville, Indiana, for 27 years. She was a former employee at the Grand Victoria Casino & Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana. Lois enjoyed waitressing & socializing with her customers. She had resided the past 14 years in Pleasant, Indiana. Lois will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren, sewing, making crafts, painting & flea marketing. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister & aunt. Lois died at 2:05 am, Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Lois will be missed by her husband: Charles Ray Stopher of Pleasant, IN; her daughter: Lora Ann Lawson of Arcadia, IN; her sons: Virgil Wayne Michael Jr. of Pleasant, IN, Mark Allen Michael & his wife: Anna of Elwood, IN; her step-daughters: Mindy, Charlene, Dawn & Susan; her grandchildren: Bobbi Jo, Farron, Jessie, Gus, Sammi & Marley; her great-grandchildren: Savanna, Paxton, Aaron & Liam; her 7-step-grandchildren; her 2-step-great-grandchildren; her sisters: Judy Stanley of Anderson, IN, Janice Cox of Chattanooga, TN; her brother: Jim Russell of Norman, OK; her several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert Floyd & Helen (McCord) Russell; her first husband: Virgil Wayne Michael; her grandson: Landon Lee Michael; her brother: Herb Russell.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Mike Whiteman, at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street Lapel, Indiana 46051. Interment will follow in the Perkinsville Cemetery, Perkinsville, Indiana.
