Betty J Seaver, 87, of Aurora, Indiana passed away Monday, December 19, 2011.
She was born Sunday, March 30, 1924 in Vevay, Indiana, Daughter of the late Edward Smith and the late Mary Gardner Smith.
Betty retired after over 31 years at Seagrams. She also worked 30 years for Bob Hastings in different venues. She worked at Hastings Department store and at Hoosier Horseman.
Betty was very patriotic. She was known as "The Patriotic Flag Lady". She was very active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 5312, serving as past president for several terms, and also a member of the Aurora Eagles Auxiliary. Betty worked BINGO every Friday at VFW and every Saturday at the Eagles. She was the Grand Marshall for the Aurora Farmers Fair in 2001 and the Dearborn County "Lady of the Year" in 1995. She loved her country and her home town of Aurora. Betty was loved by everyone that she met she was Grandma or Granny to many folks, not even related. Her family was the Shining Star of her life and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are Daughter, Sheri (David) Roberts of Lawrenceburg, IN; Grandchildren, Tammy Smith (Fredie) Armantrout, David (Kristy) Sams, Alisa (David) Pruss; Great-Grandchildren, Houston, Crystal, Cassie, Kevin, Dakota, Blake, Lilly and Brianna; and a Great-Great-Granddaughter, Addie and Brother, George Edward (Cathy) Smith of Dayton, OH
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Stafford "Red" Seaver; Son, Richard "Dicky" Smith, grandaughter, Kandy Smith, great grandson, Kyle Armantrout, and 5 siblings.
Friends will be received 5:00 - 9:00 PM, Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 am with Pastor Charles Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
