Lori Jean Peterson, age 54, of Dillsboro, passed away early Friday morning, July 27, 2012 at her home following a long illness. Lori was born December 15, 1957 in Fridley, Minnesota to Leo Foco and Della (Evanson) Foco. Lori graduated from the University of Minensota with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was employed as an engineer at 3M and Texas Instruments for several years. Lori and her husband, Jeff, lived in Dallas, Texas for 10 years while he was in the service. Lori received her Masters Degree in Business Administration while living in Texas, and was employed at Abbott Labs. While employed at Texas Instruments, Lori was named "Employee of the Year" in 1981, which was a major accomplishment, since they employed several thousand people around the country. Lori and Jeff moved to the Dillsboro area several years ago when Jeff was transferred to Ciincinnati for Delta Airlines. While living in this area, Lori was an independent contractor for Abbot Labs, and also was employed at Jergens Lotion. The last several years, Lori was employed as an engineer at Hill Rom in Batesville. She was also active in Toastmasters Club in Batesville. She was a member of Dillsboro United Methodist Church. Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Della Foco. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Peterson; her 3 children, Rose Peterson, of Midland, MI, Heather Peterson, of Lafayette, IN, and Alan Peterson, of Lafayette, IN; her father, Leo Foco, of Pinconning, MI; 1 brother, Wayne (Becky) Foco, of Boston, MA; her sister, Michelle Paulston, of Manson, WA. A memorial service for Lori will be Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 12 Noon at Dillsboro United Methodist Church, 10071 Front Street, in Dillsboro, with Pastor Jann Heseman officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at Jeff and Lori's home on Spangler Rd. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to a charity of your choicel. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeVries Funeral Home iin Dillsboro.
