Mary Alice Bowman, 90, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 2:53 AM, Saturday, October 25th, at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Mary was born in Madison, IN on September 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Alice Irene (Schnabel) and Earl Edward Adams. She was a graduate of Central High School in Jefferson County, IN, Class of 1943. Mary last worked as a Hostess at Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun, IN. Mary had worked for Seagrams Distillery, Lawrenceburg, IN for several years. She attended the Rising Sun Church of Christ and was a member of the Eastern Star. On February 8, 1948 she married Russell Lee Bowman who passed away on October 23, 1983. Mary enjoyed square dancing, gardening, raising her roses and was an avid golfer.
Mary is survived by two sons, Robert (Charlene) Bowman, of Rising Sun, IN; David (Connie) Bowman, of Rising Sun, IN; by grandchildren; Caroline Reeves (Brian), Daniel Bowman, Douglas Bowman (Tracey), Danika Brindley (Tyler), Caitlyn Bowman, Chelsea Bowman & Carly Bowman & by great grandchildren; Nathan & Bradley Reeves, Dylan Bowman, Hailey Bennett & Drenden Bowman; a sister, Norma Jean Ayler, of Madison, IN, by daughter-in-law, Janet Bowman and by sister-in-law, Margie Adams, both of Rising Sun, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell, by a son, Donald Bowman, by brothers, Earl William "Bill" Adams and an infant brother James, by a sister, Dorothy Carrigan, by grandson, Bobby Lee Bowman, and by granddaughter, Chloe Bowman.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, October 28 at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Friends are invited to call Monday 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home.
