Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of
Mr. Michael "Mike" L. Simpson
Mr. Michael "Mike" L. Simpson, age 63, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on November 20, 1952 in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late, Robert L. "Bob" and Nellie C. Skirvin Simpson. He was raised in Vevay and was a 1970 graduate of Switzerland County High School. After high school he worked at the Vevay Dairy Queen and had attended Ivy Tech business classes. Mike then began a career with U.S. Shoe Corporation until 2000. Mike was united in marriage on June 6, 1997 to Diane Dunlap in Carrollton, Kentucky. He worked a short time for Belterra Casino and Resort and then for Arvin Sango and Grote Industries in Madison. In 2006 he began working as a quality control supervisor for North American Stainless near Ghent until his death. Mike also helped his dad mow cemeteries in Switzerland County and continued after the death of his dad until 2001. He had resided in Madison since 1984 and was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Community Church in Osgood, Indiana where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and was the Adult Sunday School Teacher. Mike found great peace and fellowship being mentored by Rev. Garland Rudd. His belief in his savior Jesus Christ showed in his prayers and ministry. He was a fellow mason with Union Lodge No. 2 F. & A.M. in Madison. Mike loved fishing, reading his Bible, mowing, riding motorcycles, golf, dancing, music, eating, socializing, watching IU Basketball, Bengal's Football and Cincinnati Reds Baseball. Mike was know by his nickname at NAS by all his co-workers as "Homer". Mike died on Monday, December 14, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana with his loving family at his side.
A LOVING FAMILY
Mike will be missed by his loving wife of eighteen years, Diane Dunlap Simpson of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughter, Misti Simpson-Hunt and her husband, Dusty of Florence, Indiana; his loving sons, Dustin Simpson and his companion, Charlotte of Salem, Oregon, Eric Simpson and his wife, Tasha of Charlestown, Indiana; his loving step daughter, Lori Little and her companion, Rob Ciccarella of Vevay, Indiana; his adoring grandsons, Alex and Maddox; his loving brother, Donald Simpson and his wife, Bev of Dillsboro, Indiana; his sisters in law and brothers in laws, Sue Barnes of Bedford, Kentucky, Pamela Harris and her husband, Jamie of Madison, Indiana, Mark Dunlap and his wife, Marcia of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. "Bob" Simpson, died May 1, 1999, his mother, Nellie C. Skirvin Simpson Pickard, died August 3, 2013, his step mother, Stella Louise Skirvin Simpson, died Nov. 5, 1994, his step father, Arlie Paul Pickard, his step son, Jeffrey David Whittaker, died April 11, 2001, his father in law and mother in law, Buford and Lorene "Tootsie" Bray Dunlap, his brothers in law, Larry "Bubba" Dunlap and Lewis Barnes.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Mike Miller at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North US 421 near Madison, Indiana
VISITATION
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
MASONIC SERVICE
Union Masonic Lodge No. 2 F. & A.M. will conduct services on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
